Thoughts On Weight Training Programs
Many people in the world are trying to use performance enhancing drugs to gain an edge in sports. I have heard a lot of people in the media saying that these athletes are using performance enhancing drugs to get bigger and stronger. However I have heard many different professional athletes saying that is not the reason at all. They say the reason these athletes are using performance enhancing drugs is that they are trying to get healthy and rebuild faster during the rigors of a season.
I do not believe that any reason is a good reason to use drugs, but I think that a well rounded weight training program could help athletes get bigger and stronger without having to completely fatigue their bodies. Quite a few people believe that just lifting big weights is the only way to build muscle. However this is not true at all. The best weight training programs incorporate quite a few other things than just lifting large weights.
If you want to get a good well rounded body, then just lifting large weights will not be enough. Almost every time I have been to the gym I usually see some guys that have a huge upper body, but nothing else. These guys do not have a good weight training program. I good weight training program will have equal time given to upper body, lower body, and core workouts.
If you work all three sections of your body you will develop total body strength, and it will also allow you to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You also need to make sure that you incorporate some type of cardiovascular workout routine into your weight training program, because it will help you during your weight training as well. I think one of the most important things and often one of the most overlooked is the amount of stretching that is done before and after weight lifting. If you do not stretch you can get injured easier and also be sore much longer. Also stretching before your workout allows you to achieve the full range of motion when lifting weights, which allows you to build larger muscles.
